- To be treated with a method that is safe, reasonable and effective in accordance with professional and technical regulations.
Right to respect privacy
- Have information about your health and personal life kept confidential in the medical record.
- Information specified in Clause 1 of this Article is only allowed to be disclosed when the patient agrees or to share information and experiences in order to improve the quality of diagnosis, care and treatment of patients among practitioners in the group. Direct treatment of patients or in other cases as prescribed by law.
Right to respect for honor and health protection in medical examination and treatment
- Not being stigmatized, discriminated against or forced into medical examination and treatment, except the case specified in Clause 1, Article 66 of this Law.
- Be respected for age, gender, ethnicity, and beliefs.
- Not being discriminated against the rich, the poor, and their social status.
Right to choose in medical examination and treatment
- To be provided with adequate information, explanation and counseling on disease status, results and possible risks to choose diagnostic and treatment methods.
- Accept or refuse to participate in biomedical research on medical examination and treatment.
- To choose a representative to perform and protect their rights and obligations in medical examination and treatment.
The right to be provided with information about medical records and medical examination and treatment costs
- To be provided with summary information on medical records if required in writing, unless otherwise provided by law.
- To be provided with information about prices for medical examination and treatment services, and detailed explanations about expenses in bills of medical examination and treatment services.
The right to refuse treatment and leave medical examination and treatment establishments
- To refuse to test, use drugs, apply procedures or treatments but must undertake to take responsibility in writing for their refusal, except for the case specified in Clause 1, Article 66 of this Law. .
- To leave a medical examination and treatment establishment without the end of treatment but must undertake to take responsibility in writing for his / her departure in contravention of the practitioner's regulations, unless otherwise specified in Clause 1, Article 66 of this Law.
Rights of patients who have lost their civil act capacity, have no civil act capacity, have limited civil act capacity or are underage from 6 years old to under 18 years
- In case a patient has lost its civil act capacity, has no civil act capacity, has limited civil act capacity or a minor is from full 6 years old to less than 18 years old, the legal representative the patient's decision on medical examination and treatment.
- In case of emergency, in order to protect the patient's life and health, if the legal representative of the patient is not present, the head of the medical examination and treatment facility shall decide on the medical examination and treatment.
